Ampthill 1881s welcome Richmond Saxons (3rd XV) to Dillingham Park today for the latest round of the Raging Bull Division 1.

Ampthill current sit at 5th position in the league, slap bang in the middle of Richmond’s two teams in this league (Vikings at the top and Saxons at 9th). Ampthill have managed this feat however after playing only 11 matches so far whereas most of the teams above them have played an additional 4 to 6 games. With this situation taken into account, Ampthill could easily be placed second in the league.

Richmond Saxons have had a disappointing start to the season this year and a number of postponed matches too. In the last few matches however, Richmond Saxons have managed to turn things around and won their last 3 matches.

Despite the wet weather all week the sun has decided to put in an appearance today and the Ampthill Pitch is well known for good drainage. This match should prove an interesting game with both teams looking to gain maximum points.

Ampthill Jets have their one and only pre-season match on Saturday 31st August, kick off 2.15 at Dillingham Park. Ex 1881 coach Paul Allen brings a mixed squad from London North 1 club Shelford .

With no First XV or 1881 action this weekend why not come and support the club’s senior amateur side featuring ex First XV players (from previous decades) and new to senior rugby players together with the core of the social players the Jets are renowned for!

The match is aimed at giving the Jets squad an opportunity for a run out before the serious stuff starts on 7th September when London Irish amateurs visit Dillingham Park for the Jets first-ever Zoo League 2 match.

Ampthill Jets welcome Datchworth 2nd XV to Dillingham Park for the 16th round of the Hertfordshire & Middlesex Merit Table.

Datchworth currently sit 8th in the table with a pattern of alternating win/loss results over the past 5 games and hoping to continue the pattern which would result in a win for them today.

Ampthill remain undefeated this season and sit at the top of the merit table a good 6 points clear at present of their nearest rivals (Bedford Athletic 2nd XV). With such a winning streak this season Ampthill should fancy their chances for this meeting too.

At the last meeting of these two teams in December Ampthill came away with a 78-7 win.

Ampthill Jets welcome Harpenden 2nd XV to Dillingham Park for the 7th round of the Hertfordshire & Middlesex Merit Table 2018/19. Harpenden have had a good run this season only having lost twice and sitting third in the table.

Ampthill Jets have had a run of missed matches, possibly due to the first match of the season where they beat Epping Upper Clapton 2nd XV by a whopping 75 points to nil. They do however occupy the 1st place on the table with a clear 4 points ahead of Harpenden but with a significantly higher cumulative points total.

Both teams are having an excellent season and with the past record of points scored by the Jets this should prove an action-packed match.
