Loughborough Students represent Ampthill 1st XV’s first home league opponents in 2019. The Students side struggled last season, avoiding relegation with a fine run of points scoring in March & April.

Traditionally Loughborough suffer from high player turnover. The prior year’s graduates leave for pastures new combined with the beginning of the new academic year falling after the start of the new season providing the perfect storm. Some of the new crop of players will not have had much, if any time to bed in to the system.
